How Do I Know if EV is a Good Choice for Me?
Driving electric is easier and more convenient than you might think, but it's important to make sure it's a good fit for your lifestyle before you decide to go all-in. Get started with our 5-Question quiz to see if EV works well with your current driving habits. We'll address three big factors when considering an electric vehicle:
- How often do I need to charge my EV? It might help to think of a full charge like it's a full tank of gas.
- What charging options do I have access to? The most common option is at-home charging, I bet you can't do that with your gas-engine vehicle!
- How long does it take to charge? This will depend on how many miles you drive on average and the type of charging station you use.
Remember, this quiz is just a fun place to start. Be sure to talk with one of our EV experts when your ready to take the next step in purchasing your EV.

Plus, installing a home charger may qualify you for local utility incentives. And don't forget the long battery warranty that covers your battery for 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Roam Where You Want To!
Chevrolet EVs offer a variety of impressive ranges, so whether you’re planning a big road trip or just buzzing around town, you’ll have the power you need to get wherever you’re going. Rest easy knowing that every Chevy EV is backed by an 8-yr./100,000-mi.† battery limited warranty. What’s more, you can help maximize your battery’s life by following these simple tips.
Regen on Demand™†
This feature allows you to manually slow down your vehicle and converts some of the energy from your EV’s movement directly to the battery.
Cabin Pre-Conditioning
When you heat or cool your vehicle prior to driving, it draws energy from the charging outlet rather than your battery.
Relaxed Driving
Smooth driving and gentle acceleration help optimize battery life.
Watching the Weather
Extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, can affect the battery. For ideal performance, it’s best to avoid parking outdoors – aim to keep your EV in a garage or in covered areas if possible.
EV Battery Health Tips 101
When living an all-electric life, the overall health of your electric vehicle’s battery should always be top of mind. To help with that, here are a few easy things to remember:
- Charging your battery to 80% for daily use helps promote battery health and optimal regenerative braking performance
- For longer trips, you can adjust your charge above 80% for extended range
- Since DC Fast Charging slows down as the battery fills up, charging beyond 80% isn't recommended
- Keep the vehicle plugged in when possible to condition the battery for optimal performance
